Every year, in Italy and around the world, women at all social levels are victims of
psychological and physical violence by their partner.
Gender-based violence is a phenomenon that seems unavoidable. However, there are often
signs that are symptomatic of an imminent degeneration in the relationship, but which the
potential victim does not usually perceive as such. Only greater awareness and
understanding can reduce violence and prevent it from happening.
SAVE THE WOMAN is a response to the need for tools dedicated to the prevention of
gender-based violence.
At the heart of the project is an anonymous and discreet smartphone app. It includes a
questionnaire, based on artificial intelligence, which women can complete to find out if they
are at risk of violence and if they should seek help. SAVE THE WOMAN is a unique
application as it takes immediate action, before the woman becomes a victim, in order to
prevent any psychological and physical violence.
SAVE THE WOMAN is also a "link" to a network of specialists who can provide advice, if the
woman suspects that she is at risk of violence. The app is the first step in helping women
become more aware of their situation. It is a unique application, which recognises the signs
(or symptoms) of any imminent mental or physical abuse, before the woman falls victim to it.
SAVE THE WOMAN is a project conceived and created by SPX Lab, a leader in digital
technology, which was awarded a "menzione etica" (ethical mention) at the sixth Premio
Best Practice Awards, in recognition of their work on the first prototype of the project.
